Tips and Tricks for Enhancing Auto Ac's Performance
- To
ensure proper lubrication and to avoid gas leakage which results due to non
usage for longer periods, operate the air conditioner for ten minutes (once per
week and even in the winter season). This basically avoids the hardening of the
rubber seals which results in the leakage.
- All
windows must be properly closed to ensure effective cooling.
- Cars
tend to get very hot when parked in sunlight. In such a scenario:
- Let
the air escape through the windows first
- Maximum
speed of the blower should be used to facilitate quick escape of hot air.
- When
the temperature inside becomes equivalent to the outer one, close the windows and start the air conditioner.
- Now
make adjustment in the temperature control and the blower speed as per your
desired level of comfort.
- The
air conditioner of the car carries the moisture from inside and pours it out on
the ground below (same as we see with home air conditioners). So no need to worry
if you see water beneath the car while the air conditioner is running.
- Condenser
ensures effective cooling and therefore should be washed with water every month
because a dirty one is non-conducive for effective cooling. Fortnightly washing
of condenser is recommended in case of dusty conditioners.
- To
ensure the appropriate gas quantity, check that the bubbles on the Dryers sight
glass are appearing or not (under normal operating). If they do not appear, no
refilling is needed and if they do, then refill your air conditioner gas.
- The
enhance the effective performance and the life span of the air conditioner
evaporator, shut down the air conditioner without shutting down the blower, a
few minutes before you are about to reach your desired destination or before
turning off the car's engine.
- To
get warm and de-humidifying air, use your car heater and air conditioner in
conjunction.
